SOAR Reads! Book Club

Kathy Olson, Volunteer Leader
1st Monday of each month, 1-3pm

The SOAR Reads! Book Club was designed to engage the curious minds of those  55+ readers by selecting highly-rated, current, relevant books of fiction and non-fiction. Participants take turns reading the group questions during the discussions which are spirited and fulfilling. Books are voted on twice yearly through a group recommendation process.

Participants secure their own books; through a library, bookstore, online, or by sharing with one another.

SOAR Explorers Planning Meeting

Jim Mazan, Volunteer Leader
2nd Monday of each month, 1-2:30pm

The Explorers meet to discuss ideas for future SOAR Explorer Adventures. Those bringing recommendations are asked to provide as many details as possible for the group to consider. Adventures can vary greatly and cover a wide variety of possibilities. From a glass-blowing workshop to snowshoeing, from a ballroom dance class to axe-throwing, no idea is considered outrageous. The core group who participate in the meetings help to determine which suggestions come to fruition.
