LIHEAP Registration for Seniors at Dorr Township

Dorr Township will begin offering its senior residents the opportunity to apply for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.  LIHEAP is a state and federally funded energy assistance program.  The program is designed to assist eligible low-income households pay for winter energy services.  LIHEAP will provide a one-time benefit toward utility bills – gas, electric, propane.  Please see this flyer for income guidelines.  The program ends May 31, 2023, or when program funding is exhausted.  For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact Amy Hansen at (815) 338-0125 or amy@dorrtownship.com.

At this time, Dorr Township is only assisting senior citizens with their applications.  If you are not a senior citizen and need assistance with your utility bills, please call the McHenry County Housing Authority at (815) 338-7752 or sign up online for an appointment at McHenry County Housing Authority.
